About Us

The Teacher

Hi, I’m Nicole 👋

I’m an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with over 10 years of experience supporting children in reading, writing, and math. Since earning my teaching degree in 2013, I’ve tutored students both in-person and online, helping them build strong literacy and academic skills.

Along the way, I also earned my TEFL certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and began working with children who are learning English as an additional language. Even though most of my teaching background is in tutoring elementary school subjects, the skills I’ve developed — breaking down new concepts, building strong reading foundations, and making lessons engaging — translate directly into helping children learn English.

My Teaching Approach

I use strategies from my professional teacher training to create lessons that are both structured and fun. With every student, I focus on:

  • Building confidence through small, achievable steps
  • Using games, visuals, and stories to make lessons interactive
  • Developing strong reading and communication skills
  • Adjusting lessons to match each child’s pace and learning style

Why Work With Me?

  • Certified Primary/Junior teacher in Ontario, Canada
  • Over 10 years of tutoring experience in literacy, reading, and writing
  • TEFL-certified and experience working with ESL learners
  • Patient, encouraging, and skilled at helping children stay motivated

My Goal

Whether I’m teaching English to new learners or supporting children in literacy, my goal is always the same: to help students feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress.
